Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any questions, please reach out to info@belleateliernyc.com.
DO YOU OFFER ALTERATIONS FOR BRIDES WHO PURCHASED ELSEWHERE?
Yes. While priority is given to our in-house brides, we occasionally accept outside gowns depending on our schedule and workload. Please inquire with info@belleateliernyc.com early to confirm availability.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY FIRST FITTING?
Bridal alterations are scheduled with our team once your gown has been purchased. We require 12 weeks before your wedding date. Rush fittings may be accommodated for an additional fee.
HOW MANY FITTINGS WILL I NEED?
We begin with an initial consultation, during which your garment will be pinned and an estimated cost provided. After that, most gowns require 2–3 fittings, depending on the gown’s complexity and any design changes requested.
If additional changes are made to your gown that were not discussed during the initial consultation, additional fees will apply.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY FITTING?
Please bring your wedding shoes and any undergarments or shapewear you plan to wear on your wedding day. This ensures accurate hem and fit adjustments.
We ask that you avoid coming straight from the gym, exercising or spray tanning. We recommend wearing skin/flesh tone, seamless underwear and require underwear bottoms for fittings
DO YOU OFFER CUSTOMIZATIONS OR DESIGN CHANGES?
Yes, our workroom can accommodate minor or structural changes, including adding sleeves, altering necklines, adjusting trains, or modifying silhouettes. Customizations are quoted individually.
WHAT IS THE AVERAGE COST FOR BRIDAL ALTERATIONS?
Standard alterations typically range from $1,300–$3,000+, depending on the gown and work required. Detailed quotes are provided during your initial consultation.
